Humaira Ahmed is the Founder and CEO of Locelle – a networking app for women. Networking is hard and it’s even harder to easily connect and meet up with like-minded women: friends and mentors.

What is your favourite spot on Vancouver Island?

Although all of Vancouver Island is beautiful, my favourite spot would have to be Tofino. It’s just a really special place and true paradise – the sandy beaches, the really good coffee and the beautiful waves…. 

Favourite new gadget/tool or app?

Of course my app – Locelle 😉 Apart from that, I would have to say Figma (for design).

…not for everyone! You need to be a risk-taker and bold with the decisions you make and be ready to constantly ride the waves.

What is your morning routine?

I have a better night time routine, but it’s mostly coffee made by my husband, breakfast with the kids, checking emails and getting ready to drop off and head to work.

My last part-time gig – the leadership team was incompetent and so for my business, I make sure we lead, not manage/control.

I would be a tiger- strong vision, decisive, sensitive, tenacious, determined and nurturing.
